BICYCLE TRAIL: The Emerald Ribbon is part of National Bike Trail No. 4 and is well marked.
The multitude of rivers, lakes, fjords and wide open mountain plateaus await visitors along The Emerald Ribbon, offering a wide variety of backdrops for hunting and fishing enthusiasts.
There are designated seasons for hunting and fishing. Notices on local seasons are posted in local grocery shops and can be obtained from individual landowners or the local landowner organization.
SALT WATER FISHING is excellent in Mofjord and the fjords from Straume on Bolstadfjord to Eidsland on Eidsfjord. There are a wide variety of salt water fish in the fjords; in particular mackerel are plentiful in the summer, followed by the annual return of the sea trout to their spawning grounds.
SALMON AND TROUT swim into the lower parts of the Ekso and Teigdal Rivers. Fishing is regulated here and a fishing permit is required. Ekso fishing permits can be purchased at a self-serve kiosk at Myster in Eidsland.
BROWN TROUT is found in the upper parts of the Ekso and Teigdal Rivers, and also in many lakes. In Voss Council, sportsmen can obtain joint fishing permits that are valid for rivers and lakes. In Eksingedalen, fishing permits may be purchased from individual landowners or at the shop at Lavik. In this area it is also possible to fish for brown trout in the cultivated zone between the Vetleglupen Falls and Flatekval Falls.
SMALL GAME HUNTING in the wilderness of both Eksingedalen and Teigdalen is excellent and varied. The landowners’ organization and individual landowners sell hunting permits.
LARGE GAME (i.e. deer) hunting belongs to the landowners, and hunting requires permission from the individual landowner.
